Blago Swears in the Senate

Wednesday, January 14th, 2009

How messed up is this country’s government and media when I see this on CNN:

Blago Swears

and take it as Blago telling the senate to fuck off in the Illinois state Senate building. Where was this crap during the writers strike when I really needed some good entertainment?

Lost Season 5 Predictions and Theories (pt.2)

Wednesday, January 7th, 2009

My holiday vacation involved watching all the seasons. All of them.

  • The Hostiles – Here’s a theory: What if the hostiles that were talked about in the Ben flashback (the one where he is a little boy in DHARMA) are actually the survivors of flight 815 that have been sent back in time when the island moved. Also, this might explain who the Others really are – they are people trapped on the island that have been moved back in time. Just a thought.
  • The Tempest Station – So, Harper warned Juliet that Faraday and Charlotte where going to release the gas from the Tempest station and kill everybody on the island. This was obviously the way the Hostiles killed the DHARMA Initiative at 4:00 pm in Ben’s flashback. Two points here. Harper said that Ben sent her, and wanted Juliet to kill Faraday and Charlotte. Ben didn’t send Harper – because he and his daughter would have died from the gas. Harper is probably an island spirit – due to her quick departure – so I would guess the island wanted everyone dead. The other point is how did Faraday and Charlotte know that the Tempest was about to kill everybody? It seemed really last minute that they took off. And who set the Tempest time-bomb in motion?
  • The Arrow Station – What was the purpose of this hatch? Does it have a secret wall like the Staff Station? Are we going to see who left the Bible, the Swan Station Orientation edits, and the glass eye? Was it Razinsky? What was he doing there and why did he leave an eye??
  • Marvin Candle – Who is this guy? Was he DHARMA’s lead scientist? And what’s with all his aliases? I hope we learn more about him. It would be great if he was a supporting character for a few episodes.
  • The Frozen Donkey Wheel – Okay, I read this theory and I’m adopting it. I wanted to know how a crank could move an island. Well, I read somewhere (I forget now) that sort of crank is similar to the types old ships use to hoist up anchors. What if the crank was used to lift a giant plug that contained the island’s exotic matter. This matter could flow through under the island like lava. Speaking of volcanos.
  • Volcanos – Another part of Ben’s flashback (“The Man Behind the Curtain”) we see young Ben inside a classroom when the Hostiles attack – the teacher (played by hottie Samantha Mathis) gives a lesson in volcanic activity on the island. Can we say foreshadowing? I’m surprised this didn’t get addressed in Season 4. Hopefully we’ll see some hot magma action in this season – if not, then Season 6 to be sure. The entire series might end with the island exploding in a lava burst. This also might explain how the island disappeared. If the island can move through time, then maybe at some point, the island sank. This state of the island got transferred to current time by Ben moving the donkey wheel. Ja?
  • Danielle Rousseau – Yeah, she’s dead – but if we’re going to be moving back and forth through time, we’re going to see her origins on the island, and how she snuffed out her team and maybe how Ben stole Alex. Frankly, I’m disappointed on how quickly they killed off her, Alex, and Karl. Maybe this will shed some light on her past.
  • Annie – Ben’s childhood girlfriend. I’m sure she is crucial in the development of Ben’s psycho behavior. My theory is they got married and she was the first to die in childbirth, prompting Ben to kidnap Alex from Rousseau later on. Of course, Annie probably looks like Juliet, who in turn, looks just like Sarah, Jack’s ex-wife. It would be a hoot if the same actress that plays Sarah, also plays Annie.
  • Adam and Eve – Remember these corpses from the caves of Season 1 discovered by Jack? Now, more than ever, I believe that they are Jack and Kate – trapped in time, doomed to live on the island. Jack is still the owner of the black and white stones found on the bodies. It’s either them or Aaron and Ji-Yeon (Sun and Jin’s daughter).

More to come – although we have exactly two weeks until the two hour premiere of Lost on January 21…
