Candi Fan Art

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

Here is something I did today. It’s Candi, Jon, and Alex from the Candi web comic by Starline X Hodge. It was done with a red col-erase pencil, scanned into photoshop and colorized. I find the col-erase pencils easier to work with than ink.

You know, I don’t read Playboy for the articles… I read it for the cartoons.

Faerie Drawing

Thursday, April 3rd, 2008

Did this one last night. I’m still working on the color version – but I’m real happy how it turned out. I need a bigger light table though.

Facebook Graffiti

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

Here are some images that I’ve drawn with Graffiti, an application on my Facebook page. I’ve been liking Facebook a little more now that I’ve been able to get it connected with this site (and the twitter connection is cool). Graffiti, however, is maddening because it is a really limited drawing app. You have a round brush with variable width, a color (using hex values, but displaying 256 colors), and opacity. You have a set canvas size that you cannot zoom into, so your marks are pretty much at the mercy of a steady hand… Oh well, it’s still fun – and it help me practice my color shading. You can even watch how I drew the picture as it plays back my brush strokes.

Sketches from My Vacation

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

Just a few sketches I did while on vacation. I have tons more, but I need to scan them in. I have to remember next time to either bring my wacom tablet with me, or my portable scanner… I’d also like to point out that I’ve put covers on certain bits to comply with Flickr’s upload policy – I didn’t even chance it with posting these on MySpace or Facebook.

The First Good Girl Sketch

Wednesday, March 19th, 2008

It’s actually done in a Tuscan Red Col-Erase pencil, but looks better black after I scan it in. I still need to work on hands. They’re unbelievably hard. I almost erased a hole into the paper. I guess that’s what sketchbooks are for though. I might color this one later…

New Sketchbooks

Monday, March 17th, 2008

I’ve started two new sketchbooks – one is going to be mostly cheesecake and pin-up girls, the other is going to be darker screwed up shit. I’ve already made a title page for the latter…

The Col-Erase pencils I ordered are real nice. I’ve also ordered some more sketchbooks of artists that I admire, so I can learn from them. Of course, nothing beats the real thing; I am accepting submissions for nude female models. Why not?

It’s been over 2 weeks since I’ve had a smoke. I’m holding up pretty well. I’ve been hacking up ungodly amounts of lung-butter though. A word to the wise for those kids who think smoking would be cool – yesterday I hacked up something that looked remarkably like a piece of my brain. Sleep tight.
